10 months!

March 17th, 2011

This little sweetie is getting so big! I love seeing my Baby Plan clients… it’s so fun to see them grow and change over the first year. I suspect that our next session I’ll be chasing him around!

These were taken in the nick of time…a few days later we’d have been too late! This was such a fun session with a great client…and next week I get to meet the new arrival! :-)

growing up

February 22nd, 2011

I love repeat clients. I love to see the kids grow and change over the years. Yesterday I got to do one of my favorite families from early on. If you’ve visited my website, you’ve seen their faces. Dad set up this session as surprise birthday gift for his beautiful wife…how sweet is that?? Brownie points!! Today is her birthday, so I wanted to get their sneak peek up. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, S!! I hope you love these few I picked out for the blog!

Here’s a flashback to a few years ago!

hey handsome! | Seattle baby photography

December 7th, 2010

I had this little 8-month old in the studio last week! He had just learned to crawl, but luckily he was happy enough to sit.

He is so adorable! He reminds me of my son when he was this age.

Look at that smile!

Gorgeous light | Seattle family photographer

December 6th, 2010

We had one of those gorgeous Seattle autumn days and the perfect setting for this extended family session. The girls mainly wanted to run around and play, but who could blame them on this kind of day!

We managed to corral them all together for some family photos…

This family is moving this month, so we got some of the girls with their grandparents.

And the whole beautiful family!

Family sessions are a challenge…it’s hard to get everyone looking good in the same photo, or even looking in the same direction, especially with kids, but they are so important. I love being able to capture this time for families. And good luck to this family in their new life!

October 10th, 2010

I got to shoot my first session in my new studio (which is technically not open yet) with Will and his big brother Charlie. These two boys are adorable! I first met Will when he was just about a week old…and look at him now!

I got to try out a fun new backdrop I got too…

Will wasn’t quite sure to think about all of this…

How cute is that red hair??

Thanks for being the first, Brooke! Your boys are wonderful! It’s so fun seeing them grow and change!

beach time | Seattle family photographer

October 9th, 2010

Last Saturday was a glorious fall day that remind me how much I love the Pacific Northwest. It started out overcast, but not cold. One of those perfect fall mornings. I met this family at one of their favorite local beaches for some photos.

There was tree climbing…

And rock-throwing….

And cuddles with grandma…

And log-jumping…

And in between, I managed to get a few smiles…

Thanks for the great session!!

Laura and Paul | Seattle photographer

October 7th, 2010

Last week I had the honor of photographing the wedding of Laura and Paul. It was a small, intimate wedding at Cafe Juanita, and it was the most beautiful wedding I have ever attended. These two are blessed indeed, with each other and with a community of family and friends who cherish them. I wonder how often the photographer ends up crying at weddings?? :-) Luckily I didn’t end up with blurry photos!

Here are the bride and groom…Congratulations you two, and here’s to a long and wonderful journey together.

The bride was attended by her lovely daughter, who read a very beautiful piece about marriage (wish I could remember the author!).

Cafe Juanita was the perfect spot for a small, intimate wedding…it was gorgeous!

For a happy marriage, keep doing lots of this…

Cheers, you two!
